The manager of a care home in Weston is thrilled after being shorlisted for a prestigious award.

Lyn Taylor, who works at Beach Lawns Residential and Nursing Home, has been put foward in the care home registered manager category at the South West Care Awards.

Lyn, who has worked in the industry for 20 years, was nominated by her employer Sanctuary Care and several staff and residents wrote in to state what a ‘wonderful’ manager she is.

Lyn said: “I am so proud that the people that I work hand-in-hand with each day thought that I was worthy of such a nomination – and to be shortlisted is just such a shock but a great honour.”

The award is for a home manager who demonstrates a high level of expertise together with exceptional skills in managing and running a care home.

The manager also needs to show vision in developing person-centred care and in supporting staff.
