Weston-super-Mare Pride has opened a shop and box office in preparation for the event next month.

Weston Town Council clerk Malcolm Nicholson and Pride organiser Nigel Briers opened the unit at Weston’s Indoor Market, in High Street.

People will be able to stop at the colourful shop and pick up Pride tickets as well as flags, badges and more.

Mr Briers said: “This shop we hope will connect the community and give people an easy access point for Pride.”

Mr Nicholson said: “I think Weston Pride is fantastic for the town and brings the community together.

“It is a fantastic event for the town and a great music festival.

“It brings people to the town from far afield and the town council is very happy to support it.”

Weston Pride will take place on July 28-29 in Grove Park, also in High Street, from noon both days.
