Traffic jams on A370 in Weston-super-Mare after collision

A busy road in Weston-super-Mare has been closed after a car accident this afternoon (Friday).

Hutton Moor Road, between the sports centre and Locking Road, has been shut after a collision and is expected to be closed for ‘some time’, according to AA Traffic.

There are delays along the A370 from the Hutton Moor Road junction back as far as Flowerdown Bridge.

There are also increasing delays on Hildesheim Bridge Eastbound between Francis Fox Road and Hutton Moor Road as a result of the accident.

There is also stop-start congestion on the M5 northbound and southbound between J22 (Burnham-on-Sea) and J19 (Portishead) due to holiday traffic.

**UPDATE: 17.01**

Police have confirmed the road is closed following a three-vehichle crash which has blocked the road.

It happened at about 2.50pm and the road is still closed.

The ambulance have attended as a precaution.
