A Weston-super-Mare youth club has thanked Mercury readers after it was awarded a five-figure cash grant which will secure its future.

Revealed Projects, based at Holy Trinity Church in South Road, has received £10,000 from the Aviva Community Fund.

The group supports children aged nine to 18 with issues related to self-esteem, and hopes to promote healthy relationships.

Revealed Projects received almost 3,000 votes in its successful bid to receive a share of Aviva’s kitty which is donated to community projects across the country.

Project manager Adele Sutton, who appealed for support for the group in the Mercury in November, said she was ‘thrilled’ to receive the funding.

She added: “This money will help to continue delivering these services to young people.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that voted for and continues to support the work we do.”
