Weston’s Tropicana will be transformed into a skatepark this weekend for the half-term break.

Transend Skatepark 2 will be held at the Trop, in Marine Parade, from Saturday to June 1 from 9am-9pm.

Ramps, rails and halfpipes will fill the venue for the second time after a successful stint in the February school holiday, with more than 600 thrill-seekers taking part.

Event organiser Andy Skyrme hopes a series of pop-up events could eventually lead to a permanent warehouse skatepark opening in the town.

He said: “The long-term goal is to open a warehouse for skaters in Weston.

“We’re hoping to do pop-up skateparks in and around Weston throughout the year and we’ve got some exciting venues we’re in discussion with for the future.”

To attend the skatepark you must book a time slot online at www.transendskatepark.co.uk
