Her parents, Bob and Jose Bateman, organised a fundraiser at The Borough Arms, in Locking Road, to help with her treatment.

A sum of £941 was raised, taking Anna’s fundraising total past the £14,000 mark.

Bob said: “We would like to thank everyone who attended, and the four bands who played for free.

“Despite the wet weather we had a full house and people were in good spirits.

“Anna will not be able to return to work and she will stop receiving sick pay after May 1, so every penny makes a huge difference.”
