A Weston-super-Mare woman has completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising thousands of pounds for a North Somerset charity.

Lyn Gilbert completed the race with a team of nine others, raising £3,400 for Springboard Opportunity Group.

It supports children with disabilities and additional needs, from birth to five years.

Lyn said: “It was a great day, to complete such a challenging race for a worthwhile cause was a special feeling.

“Springboard gave my grandsons care and support to achieve their early year experiences.

“We want to ensure that children have the same opportunities in the future.

“Springboard is not solely about supporting the child, but the families as well, so raising awareness to this is so important.”
