A group of Weston-super-Mare friends will cycle more than 60 miles for a trio of cancer charities.

Michelle Meakin, Claire Berry, Lesley Bowskill, Nicky Baker, Ness Wilce Browne and Kym Pope will take part in the Women v Cancer Ride the Night event on Sunday.

The route will begin at Windsor Racecourse and will see cyclists travel through London before returning to the start point.

The group have already completed events including the London Marathon and the MoonWalk as well as raising money through a quiz night, but feel this could be their toughest challenge yet.

Kym Pope said: “This is one of our biggest challenges and after all the training we have endured so far I know we will absolutely conquer this challenge.”

The group has been sponsored by Weston business Bicycle Chain.

Ride the Night will raise money for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.
