The charity will hold its Strawberry Lion walk at the end of May and is looking for walkers to take part.

Setting off from the Strawberry Line entrance at Yatton Railway Station, hikers can chose to trek five, 13 or 20 miles.

The event sees competitors raise sponsorship, with 50 per cent going to a cause of their choosing and the other half to the Lions, who in turn pass it on to a charity.

Its spokesman said: “This is an opportunity for individuals or groups to raise money for the organisation or charity of their choice while also helping Yeo Valley Lions raise funds to support Springboard Opportunity Group.

“The sponsorship achieved by those taking part is split 50:50 with the Lions Club.”

Walkers will be able to set off from 10am on May 20.
