Avon and Somerset Constabulary is calling for public to nominate their ‘police heroes’.

The force wants people to nominate officers for the Be Proud Awards, which recognises the heroic efforts of emergency services.

Police and crime commissioner Sue Mountstevens said: “It’s important we take time to recognise the work of our emergency services and highlight individual members or teams who go the extra mile.”

Chief constable Andy Marsh added: “I know how much it means to my officers, staff, volunteers and teams when you recognise their dedication, compassion and professionalism. Please keep sending us your nominations.”

The Be Proud ceremony will be held at Congresbury’s DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House hotel in May.

Nominations can be submitted online until January 27 via www.beproudawards.com
