Thirty of Weston’s top landmarks could soon be immortalised in a new Somerset version of the ever-popular board game Monopoly – if you vote to make it happen.

The town is on a five-strong shortlist – with Taunton, Wells, Yeovil and Glastonbury – with the winner set to be decided by public ballot.

Voting is already under way, with the winning town’s board set to be on sale in time for Christmas.

Natasha Roebuck, of game-maker Winning Moves UK, said: “The calls for an edition based on a Somerset city or town has proved irresistible.

“The factors that will decide are two-fold. Firstly the strength of popular feeling and pride for a particular place. Secondly, the diversity and beauty of potential landmarks to fill the board.”
