It may feel like the little ones have only just gone back to school but half term is around the corner and the Mercury has teamed up with Puxton Park and Hutton Moor Leisure Centre to ensure your family is entertained.

You could win a family ticket to spend the day Puxton Park as well as a family swim pass with this week’s competition.

Get up close to the animals at Puxton Park, watch its falconry displays, or let the kids loose in its indoor play area.

The park has been open for 10 years and has plenty of activities on offer for adventurous little ones, including a Halloween extravaganza this half term.

The park is set within 40 acres of Somerset countryside and is home to meerkats, goats, cows and cuddly rabbits.

Its animal zone offers people the chance to interact with animals, and people can pet guinea pigs or take a look at hissing cockroaches, stick insects and giant millipedes in its bug house.

It has thousands of visitors every year, and it is now offering five lucky Mercury readers the chance to win a free family pass to use during half term.

The family ticket will be valid for a family of four for a day of their choice during the break, and is worth £36.

A £2.15million expansion has just opened at Hutton Moor and it is aiming to get families active during the half term break.

The centre has two pools, one heated learner pool and one 25-metre swimming pool.

Hutton Moor is offering up the chance to win one of five family swim passes, which are valid for two adults and up to three children during the school holidays. The pass is worth £62.50.
