The MET Office has issued an amber weather warning, telling people to be ready for disruption to travel and outdoor activities.

The warning is set at a less severe yellow level for Weston and North Somerset, but strong winds are still likely to be coupled with heavy rain today and tomorrow (Thurs and Fri).

Police warned motorists earlier this week to take care in severe weather conditions after standing water built up on the M5 and an accident caused traffic misery.
