It is understood she may have fallen either getting on or off the single decker vehicle, causing her neck and facial injuries.

A rapid response ambulance crew, a regular ambulance and the air ambulance all attended the scene at the junction of Beechwood Avenue and Elm Tree Road along with firefighters from Weston’s station.

Fire crews used hydraulic lifting equipment, air bags and supporting blocks to lift the single-decker vehicle and free the woman, believed to be in her 60s.

She was taken to Frenchay Hospital by air ambulance but her injuries are not thought to have been life-threatening.
