A WOMAN trapped in mud has been rescued this morning (Sat) after falling from a jetty.
Firefighters were called to Links Road in Uphill at 4.06am after the woman was unable to free herself.
Andy Sole, who was part of the coastguard team also called down to the mission after firefighters were unable to get close enough because of the steep angled banks.
Initial reports suggested she had fallen from a boat but a spokesman for the fire service confirmed it was a jetty.
Crews from Avon Fire and Rescue, a hovercraft and paramedics tended to the woman after she was rescued. She was questioned by firefighters and was not taken to hospital.
