A Yatton man raised more than £2,000 after organising a charity night and head shave.

Sam Jarvis dyed his hair different colours in the weeks before having his locks lopped off in aid of Cancer Research UK.

He also went tee-total in return for sponsorship.

Sam said: “It was a fantastic day for all at The Railway Inn, Yatton.

“After three months sober, my first pint of 2018 went down a treat.

“It didn’t take long until punters were bidding to shave my head, with Steve Hazel having the winning donation of £30. He gladly shaved off my luscious locks.

“The charity raffle went down a storm, with a variety of great prizes all donated by local businesses and people, raising in excess of £400 by itself.

“Overall my total raised is in excess of £2,000, but it’s still not too late to donate.”
