Somerset's Young Farmers will be coming to Weston in March.

A packed weekend of activities will see Young Farmers from across the South West descend on Weston-super-Mare next month.

The Somerset Federation of Young Farmers Clubs (YFC) has organised public speaking competitions, sports games, pantomimes and an agricultural forum to take place across the town.

The Tropicana, in Marine Parade, will host a black tie dance on March 2 and a cowboys and Indians-themed dance will be held the following day.

The champion junior and senior members of the year will be selected as the best ambassadors for the region ahead of national finals at Blackpool, in May.

Gillian Dosson, YFC county organiser, believes it will be a great couple of days.

She said: “We are looking forward to coming to Weston once again in what will be a very important weekend.

“Last year, the 23 clubs within Somerset raised £35,500 to charities across the region, so we hope to donate an even greater amount this year.”
