Seven children from the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Locking Road have spent months raising money to go towards aid efforts in Haiti, after it was paralysed by earthquake at the start of 2010.

At a recent Christmas social evening, the youngsters sold popcorn plus hand-made crafts and cards, bringing their total fund-raising to £115.

With further contributions from the 60-strong adult congregation, a £310 total is being sent towards relief work.
