Families in a Somerset town got creative during a messy church session on Saturday.

The fun-filled event saw children take part in a variety of arts and crafts activities at St John The Baptist Church, in Church Lane, Axbridge.

Each session focuses on a different theme, and Saturday looked at the Lord’s Prayer.

Reverend Tim Hawkings said: “The children, and some adults, enjoyed making paper planes and seeing how well they flew to remind us sometimes our prayers are like arrows.”

Children also made bead bracelets and paintings before singing hymns, listening to stories from the Bible and eating afternoon tea.

The next messy church will take place on March 18.
