A local Tennis Club have launched coaching sessions with their new coach Ella Rice.

Rice joined Congresbury this Autumn and brings a wealth of experience in both coaching and teaching PE at both primary and secondary schools.

Rice has coached tennis for over 25 years in the United Kingdom and abroad and has taught all ages and abilities, with particular experience in the mini tennis age groups.

At Sherborne Tennis Club, she was appointed Head of Mini Tennis Red where she developed a flourishing programme of junior players and held many local and county events.

Rice brings with her a huge passion for all sport but tennis in particular for so many reasons, mainly because it is such an inclusive sport for all which can be enjoyed all year round.

Alongside other weekly courses at the club, Rice is currently running the following courses on Wednesday afternoons and evenings

Mini Red for children between the ages of four and eight-years-old between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

Mini Orange for children between the age of eight and11-years-old at 5.30pm  and 6.30pm

There are is an adult beginners/improvers session between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

And Rusty Rackets’, for adults who have played a bit before but want to get back into the game again, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm

There are currently spaces on all four courses, have a look at Congresbury's website - https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/CongresburyLTC/Coaching - to book.

Rice is also available for individual lessons subject to availability.

“I’m very excited to be a part of the Congresbury community and have been met with very warm welcomes since I started a few weeks ago" she said.
