Cheddar Tennis Club marked the 60th anniversary of the Gordon Hill Trophy with the annual staging of the unders versus the overs tournament.

Cheddar Tennis Club has held its annual unders versus overs tournament, marking the 60th anniversary of the event.

At stake was the Gordon Hill Trophy which was presented to the club by the family in memory of Gordon, a keen young player at the club, who lost his life as a prisoner of war in Burma in 1943.

As ever this year’s tournament was keenly contested, with the unders coming out victorious, but the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part and the overs will be seeking revenge next year.

There is plenty of other tennis at the club throughout the summer, with head coach Stephen Pearce running holiday tennis camps for children aged four to 16 and regular club sessions for members.

The club always welcomes new members and offers coaching and cardio tennis for adults and children, as well as social tennis and league matches for the more competitive.
