A cheque for more than £800 was presented to the Great Western Air Ambulance by Congresbury Bowling Club.

Congresbury Bowling Club handed over a cheque for more than £800 to its chosen charity, the Great Western Air Ambulance.

“The money came not only from our members’ generosity, but also from prize money following our hugely successful 2017 season,” explained bowling club chairman Richard Jones, pictured with air ambulance volunteer Ian Russell.

The men’s teams won the Clevedon & District Evening League, the Somerset North Division 1 and were runners-up in the North Somerset Knockout Cup, while the ladies won both the Weston and District League and the Mendip League.

The money was handed over at captains’ morning, marking the start of the new outdoor season.

New members are welcome, the club holds open evenings every Monday starting on April 16 at 6pm with free coaching.
