Belvedere kept up their 100 per cent record with a comfortable victory at Hardington & West Coker.

BELVEDERE returned from their long journey to Hardington & West Coker victorious by six wickets in an excellent team performance to maintain their 100 per cent record.

The home side batted first and were reduced to 48-2 with both wickets falling to Sam Mccrea. Twenty runs only came off the next 12 overs as Paul Davis and Callum Neate turned the screw.

Three wickets for Neate including a fine catch in the gulley by Jack Neville saw the hosts slip to 87-5. However, Clements (50) and Pearse (47 not out) took the home side to 180-6 at the close as Neate and Neil Chadwick bowled an excellent 10-over spell at the death conceding just 46 runs.

Neate finished with 3-45, Mccrea 2-32 off 12, Chadwick 1-42 off 10, Davis bowled a great spell of 12-2-38-0 and was unfortunate to finish wicketless.

Belvedere lost Kevin Crockett in the second over as he fell to an excellent catch at short leg. However, the home sides tactic of crowding the bat allowed Neil Chadwick to pick his boundaries with ease and Mike Hosey to find the gaps as Belvedere raced to 50 in the ninth over.

With the score on 94, Belvedere lost their 2nd wicket when Hosey was bowled for 15, but Chadwick had already reached his 50 and went on to score an outstanding 88 including 16 fours.

Sam Neate played aggressively from the start before he fell for 29 to leave Mccrea (34 not out) and Pete Hooper (1 not out) to see their side home with eight overs to spare.

All Stars Sports Bar man of the match was Neil Chadwick.
