LYMPSHAM 1st XI entertained Abbots Leigh, hoping to build on their good start to the season the previous week.Skipper Jason Parsons won the toss and invited the opposition to bat, and they made the most of a good batting surface by passing the 100 mark for the loss of only one wicket in good time. At this point, Andy Russ joined Simon Pilgrim in the attack, and the combination got amongst the wickets immediately, to leave the visitors, on what must have been a disappointing, 187-8 at the end of their allotted overs. In reply, a steady start was required, and once again it was supplied by openers Rich Ford and Dave Luff, but once Ford was dismissed, two further quick wickets fell. SB Fencing man of the match Jamie Howson, entered the arena. He proceeded to hit the ball to all parts of the ground, reaching his 50 in only 34 balls, and by the time he was dismissed for an impressive 71, the game was all but won.The final total was reached for the loss of only four wickets and Lympsham's good start to the season continues.
