East Huntspill batsman Ned Harding scored 92 not out against Uphill Castle in the Property Job Midweek League Cup.

In the Proper Job Midweek League Cup, Ned Harding scored 92 not out as East Huntspill made 215-2 against second division Uphill Castle.

Needing a substantial innings from one of their batsmen, only Uphill’s B Patch with 25 made any impact as the reply subsided to 110-9, with I Phillips taking 1-4 off three overs.

In the all-Cleeve affair, it was the senior side who progressed through to the next round as an innings of 90 from Mitch Want and 78 not out from David Barnsley enabled them to total 216-1.

The target of 217 presented a daunting challenge and the Ducks struggled to achieve any real momentum, as Cleeve moved into the next round.

In Division 1, 47 from Jermaine Jones and 24 from George Chapman enabled Athletico to post a challenging total of 175-6 against the Lympsham Allsorts with M Mitchell taking 3-32 and R Conway 2-32.

Jamie Howson led the reply with 39 and D Spellman made 35, but the Allsorts were dismissed for 157, giving Athletico a 18-run victory. K Ward taking 2-14 and K Belcher 2-22.

In Division 2, The Presidents continued their winning run with a victory over Wedmore. Neil Chadwick with 52 and CJ Neate with 27 scored the majority of the runs in a total of 120-7, with A Halford taking 2-12 off five overs and G McCarthur 3-off three overs.

APeters made 34 and JBurgess 19 as Wedmore fell 15 runs short as Chadwick followed up his half century with 2-21 and S Price took 1-16 off four overs.
