The Kings of Wessex Academy equestrian team retained the National British Show Jumping Association 90cm Championship title they won last year.

The Kings of Wessex Academy equestrian team have returned from the National British Show Jumping Association Schools Winter League final with big smiles after they won the 90cm Championships for the second year running.

All four riders performed particularly, going double clear and all finished in the top five places: Alice Sandiford (2nd); Kathryn Thomas (3rd); Naomi Pollard (4th); Maisie Warren (5th).

In the 110cm individual final, Kathryn Thomas defended her title with her horse Zorba and took second on her horse Marbella to make the day a pleasing start to the season.

Executive headteacher Gavin Ball said: “Well done to our equestrian team for their splendid efforts at this prestigious show jumping event, which I know demands great skill and dedication to their chosen sport and I wish them every continued success.”
