Locking Park extended their unbeaten run with a comfortable home win over Uphill Castle Reserves.

Locking Park extended their unbeaten run in the league to seven games with a comfortable home win against Uphill Castle Reserves.

The game started well for the home side when a Chris Green pass was flicked on by Ryan Harris to Aidan Dancer who tapped past the keeper. Uphill responded quickly though and it was 1-1 two minutes later.

Park made it 2-1 after Harris smashed a shot passed the oncoming keeper. Although Uphill once again equalised, this time through a penalty given away after Mike Green handled on the line.

The first half had a crazy finish with three goals in five minutes. The first for Locking Park, Harry Hornigold finishing from another Green through ball.

Uphill were next to score to again level the game only for Park to have a penalty awarded, Hornigold bought down in the area and Green netted from the spot to finish the half 4-3 to Locking Park.

In the second half Locking stopped making the mistakes that led to conceding goals and began to dominate the game. The outstanding Harris got another three goals, the first an effort from outside the box, the second a diving header and the last a lob after the ball fell to him from a Dan Windsor cross.

CES man of the match deservedly went to Ryan Harris.

Both teams were keen to put their league form behind them and achieve some momentum in the cup which resulted in a open, entertaining game.

Wrington settled first, but a poor defensive header fell to Chris England and his precise 25-yarder gave Nailsea the lead, soon followed by a second. Even worse was to follow as a poor clearance presented a simple tap-in.

To their credit, Wrington continued to play and with the energetic Anthony Badman drove them forward from midfield. Mickey Edmunds gave Wrington some hope with a goal before half time.

After the break, Johnson hit the post and the rebound somehow split three attackers and went to safety. However, as they pushed Curtis and Rouvais further forward Nailsea seems to tire and chances came thick and fast.

A strong run by Selman finally released Johnson who slotted home and with 15 minutes left the game was in the balance. However, with Nailsea breaking up the game with three substitutions and various stoppages, time ran out and Nailsea progressed.
