Cheddar Football Club’s Adam Jones was presented with a signed commemorative shirt after celebrating 10 years with the club.

Cheddar’s Adam Jones, was presented with a special memento of a signed commemorative shirt prior to the game with Calne Town.

The award was made on the pitch by match-day sponsor and a former club chairman, Steve Chivers, proprietor of Steve Chivers and Co Ltd.

Jones, aged 28, who celebrated 10 years with the club the weekend, has made 360 appearances with the club and has netted 280 goals.

In a club statement, Cheddar Football Club said: “This award is presented to our club captain Adam Jones in recognition of his outstanding commitment and leadership and we are pleased to recognise this momentous occasion with this award for this special player in the club’s history.”

Jones said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to all the players and staff (and indeed to all our brilliant fans) for this kind presentation of this commemorative shirt, and to all those people who left kind comments on social media.”

It was highly fitting that Adam scored Cheddar’s winning goal on Saturday, as he lead his team to consolidate fourth position in the Toolstation Western League Division One in a 2-1 win over Calne Town.
