CURRENT cup holders Medivale reached the semi-final after overcoming BBH in an exciting encounter.

Scott Thompson headed in the opener for Medivale, but BBH replied twice to lead going into the break.

In the second half, Medivale equalised when Ben Westgarth headed back across goal for Aaron Bray to slam home. BBH took the lead again from the penalty spot, but Medivale equalised once more after a superb individual effort from Troy Hayes.

Hayes scored again with just eight minutes left to send Medivale through to the semi-finals. Stand-in captain James Brown and Westgarth were solid at the back and Callum Thompson and Callum McManus were superb in midfield.

Results – Knockout Cup quarter- finals: South Park Rangers 3, White Hart 4; Bottle Bar 1, Clevedon Crusaders 6; BFC 8, Woodspring PR 1; BBH 3, Medivale 4.

Fixtures: Medivale v BFC (St Johns pitch 1); South Park v Bottle Bar (St Johns pitch 2); Weston Spartans v BBH (Priory); Woodspring PR v White Hart (Westlands).
