Team Mendip Ladies kept up their good form with victories over Almondsbury and Frome.

Playing a midweek game under lights with a howling gale blowing across the pitch made no difference to Team Mendip.

Ellie Roberts continued her fine goal scoring form as her shot took a massive deflection, evading the stranded Almonsbury keeper. Roberts scored the second a well-struck shot from the edge of the box.

Almondsbury scored against the run of play, but Ellie Orritt concluded the scoring after good work from Sherise Binns.

PD&CL girl of the game was Tash Hale.

It took just 10 minutes for Mendip to take the lead in this South West Women’s game, a corner produced a brave diving header from Ellie Roberts.

Roberts was again on the scoresheet on 20 minutes converting from the penalty spot after a Frome player had handled in the box.

A nice sequence of passing found Roberts free on the edge of the box and she finished well for her hat-trick.

On 79 minutes a quality pass from Tash Crew found Tash Hale inside the box who stroked the ball home for goal number four and Amy Clark completed the scoring from a corner late in the game.

PD&CL Building Services girl of the game was Ellie Roberts.

Mendip are at home this Sunday to Oldland Abbotonians Ladies, 2pm at Worle Rec.
