Team Mendip Ladies started the game brightly and were rewarded with an early goal, Natasha Crew adding to her tally for the season.

A torrential downpour turned the pitch into a mud bath, but Mendip continued to pass the ball and were unlucky not to increase their lead with chances falling to Ellie Roberts and Ellie Orritt and an effort from Steph Goddard which needed goal line technology.

As the pitch deteriorated, Oldland’s direct style became more effective and Mendip failed to clear a high ball into the box and were punished with the equaliser.

Mendip pushed for the winner, Roberts’ shot from the edge of the box was well saved by the home keeper and the points were shared.

PD&CL Building Services girl of the game was captain Tina Delaney.

Team Mendip Girls Under-13s recorded an excellent 6-0 win away at Wembdon.

Goalkeeper Ellie-Mae Brennan did not have a lot to do in goal, but handled well when needed. Defenders Mollie Barnes, Charlotte Morris, Jess Selwyn and Daisy Robbins all played well, while Chloe Morris and Tegan Roberts were solid in centre midfield.

Willow Hull and Amelie Ford were both full of energy down the wings and great runs came from Kelly Jones, Lilly Potter and Evie Hamilton up front.

Goals came from Potter (2), Morris (2), Hull and Ford. Dalesway Mobility girl of the game was Lilly Potter.
