Talented Cheddar youngster wins Tri-Star series
TALENTED nine-year-old Freya King has won the Triathlon England Tri-Star 1 girls’ category of the South West Series.
The Cheddar youngster, a member of the Burnham Junior Triathlon Academy and Cheddar Marlins Swimming Club, completed three triathlons in the series, achieving a maximum of 2,400 points.
Each event included a swim of 150 metres followed by a bike stage of between two and three kilometres and a 1.5 kilometre run. Freya’s last race of the series took place in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, and she completed the event in just over 16 minutes to come away with first place.
