MEMBERS of JKA Weston Shotokan Karate Club attended their regional grading earlier this month.

Sensei Roy Thomlin travelled from Lewisham in London to conduct the day’s training and examination, which was also attended by students from Taunton, Glastonbury, the Mendips and Bristol.

The students had to be on top form as Sensei Thomlin has recently returned from Japan where he gained his 6th dan at the headquarters of the Japan Karate Association.

Fortunately for the Weston students, the hard work they have put in over recent months paid off as they all passed with flying colours.

JKA Weston Shotokan Karate Club meets at Priory Community School, Worle, and is looking for new students. If you want to learn karate the Japanese way call 07528 512355 or email jka.westonsupermare@gmail.com
