Maddox wins Grade 4 event at Martock

Eleven-year-old Maddox Gould recently won a Grade 4 event held at Martock.

Weston Tennis Club junior Maddox Gould, aged 11, has won a Grade 4 Under-14s event held at Martock.

Maddox came through a strong entry which included players who were older and held higher LTA rankings. He fought bravely throughout the event and won the final convincingly 4-1, 4-1 against Jasper Pover from Bath.

Maddox is currently ranked number four in the county and his ranking is rising fast.

The club’s qualified coach, Jamie Allen, runs junior sessions throughout the year on Saturday mornings with designated time slots for ages from five to 16. The club also has regular playing sessions for adults on Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings and is actively looking to recruit more members of all abilities.
