Alan turns the clock back

Motor cycle rider Alan Carter turned back the clock as he took part in the Legends of Cadwell Park Pro-Am Challenge race at Cadwell Park.
Last weekend saw the eighth round of the British Superbike Championship held at Cadwell Park and Weston-based Alan Carter turned the clock back when he competed in the Legends of Cadwell Park Pro-Am Challenge races.
The Pro-Am series started in 1981 with all the riders on identical RD 350cc LC Yamaha’s and riders picked the keys out of a hat which gave them their machine for the race weekend at Cadwell Park they used the RD 250cc LC Yamaha’s from the 1980s with many of the 1980s riders in action.
Back in 1982, Alan finished second in the British Pro-Am Championship and second in the European Pro-Am Championship. During 1983 he won the French 250cc Grand Prix, despite starting from 31st on the grid and at the time was one of the youngest Grand Prix winners.
At Cadwell Park, he started his first race from 13th on the grid and finished in fifth place and in his second race went one better with fourth place.
