THE Somerset Mike Manning Audio Rebels completed their 2007 team with the signing of their seventh and final rider, Tomas Suchanek.Although only 22, Suchanek comes to the Oak Tree Arena with not only tremendous potential, but also a good degree of pedigree. Twice a winner of the Czech under 21 Championship in 2002 and 2003, Suchanek only missed out on taking the World Under 21 Championship in 2005 in the cruellest of ways, losing out to Krystof Kasprzak on the toss of a coin after the meeting had to be abandoned after 12 heats, both riders being unbeaten at the time of the stoppage. The Rebels will see a second successive season at the Oak Tree Arena for Simon Walker, much to the relief of many a female Somerset fan. For the 26-year-old Walker a contract with Somerset was high on his list of priorities for the new season, as he explains: "I really enjoy my racing with Somerset, and the Oak Tree Arena is just a fantastic place, not only for the racing, but also for the support of the fans."A big hit with the fans, Walker was the recipient of last season's Most Entertaining Rider of the Year award, his Heat 14 exploits and victories being almost legendary at the Oak Tree Arena. In contrast, for the second of the two riders, Danny Warwick, it will be a debut season riding for the Rebels, although he is not unfamiliar to the Highbridge circuit.Warwick was voted Berwick's Rider of the Year last time, the latter half of the season showing just how much progress the 23-year-old had made in his first full year in the Premier League.Somerset promoter Mike Golding was understandably delighted with his new signings. "Simon is Mr Popular at the Oak Tree Arena and the signing most Rebels have been waiting for. This was only delayed because Simon was away on holiday." Full Somerset Rebel line up for 2007: Magnus Zetterstrom (10.46), Emil Kramer (7.08), Ritchie Hawkins (6.40), Tomas Suchanek (5.97), Simon Walker (3.77), Jordan Frampton (3.00), Danny Warwick (3.00).
