Porsche Carrera German Cup drive Ryan Cullen from Wedmore picked up 19 points in his latest two races in Germany.

Somerset driver Ryan Cullen enjoyed his most successful weekend of his Porsche Carrera German Cup career so far.

The 25-year-old from Wedmore, amassed a total of 19 points from the two races at the Norisring, Germany, with four of the eight races to go.

Cullen said: “The weekend was very good, I was clear in both races after a good start to the race. I managed the race quite well and although it was difficult to catch up on the Norisring I tried to put as much pressure as possible on the other drivers in front of me and force them into mistakes.

“The plan went well on both occasions, and I’m just glad that it’s going well for me after a difficult season start.”

Cullen failed to register any points in opening race of the season at Hockenheim, but has improved as the season progressed.

He notched up nine points at Lausitzring and then 13 points at the Red-Bull Ring in Austria before last weekend’s 19-point haul at Norisring. Last weekend’s results leave Cullen 10th in the Porsche Carrera German Cup standings.

Cullen added: “I’m now full of confidence going into the Porsche Supercup race at the Red-Bull Ring this weekend and looking to improve again on last weekend’s efforts.”
