CONGRESBURY Tennis Club is holding an open day on July 15 at its courts in the King George Fifth Playing Fields.
Set in pleasant surroundings, the club has three courts, two of which are floodlit and expert coaching is provided for all ages and levels of ability.
Competitive tennis is available for men and women, as the club enters teams in both the North Somerset and Avon tennis leagues. Social tennis currently centres around Wednesday evenings, but the club would like to extend this by running further club sessions on Sunday mornings.
Coach Dean Cope works with young children (from the age of four) from 4pm on Wednesday evenings and older children on Tuedays. Intermediate and beginner adults are coached on Tuesdays between 7-9pm.
For the dedicated player, floodlit practice sessions for the men continue throughout the winter and both sexes can play in the North Somerset winter tennis leagues on Sunday mornings.
The club is also keen to launch a new ‘rusty rackets’ coaching initiative for those returning to tennis after a lengthy lay-off. In short, Congresbury Tennis Club has something to offer anyone with an interest in the game.
The open day starts at 11am, anyone can drop in and try their hand at wielding a tennis racket. Expert coaching will be available on the day and further information provided about membership, social events and further opportunities to develop your game.
