Somerset Rebels consolidated third spot in the league after a comprehensive victory over Glasgow.

THE Somerset Rebels consolidated third place in the Premier League with a comprehensive 58-32 home victory over Glasgow.

The Rebels did not have it all their own way as the scores were level at 21-21 after seven races, before the hosts ran in six 5-1s in the remaining eight heats.

Leigh Lanham scored a five-ride paid maximum, with Brady Kurtz unbeaten from his four outings, while Charles Wright scored 12 (paid 13).

Somerset will again be featured live on television when the Sky Sports cameras come to the Oaktree Arena to broadcast the top of the table clash against Edinburgh on August 1.

Somerset promoter Debbie Hancock said: “We are honoured to have been selected again and Sky could not have picked a better meeting than the visit of Edinburgh.”

The Rebels next track action will be tomorrow (Friday), when Ipswich will provide the opposition.
