Hornets Colts ran out comfortable winners against North Bristol in their latest league match.

Hornets Colts were playing their first home league game of the season following two away fixtures, eventually running out 38-22 winners against North Bristol.

The home side started strongly, scoring two tries courtesy of Quentin Querl and Ethan Thomas, both converted by Charlie Fairhurst. They went off the boil and North Bristol took full advantage and scored two tries, converting one to bring the score to 14-12.

The hosts took back control and started to string a few a phases together resulting in two more tries before the break through George Goodall and Rhys Clarke, with one converted by Fairhurst to make the half time score 26-12.

Following lots of changes at the break, the second half started slowly while the new players found their feet.

With Querl moved from wing to scrum-half he spotted a gap and used his pace to score his second of the game, North Bristol replied quickly with a try and continued to exert pressure, but the home defence stood strong.

With 10 minutes to go, North Bristol stepped up the intensity throwing everything at the home defence eventually being rewarded with another try, making sure they stayed in touch.

With time ticking and the score at 31-22, both sides were working hard for the next score which eventually fell to Hornets following a great line from Thomas to claim his second and the final score of the match.
