Hornets Under-15 Girls gained maximum points against Drybrook in the first round of the Area Cup.

Hornets Under-15 Girls produced their best display of the season to beat a strong and determined Drybrook side six tries to one ensuring maximum points in the first round of the Area Cup.

Hornets dominated the first half with forwards Jess Delaney, Kerri Townsend, Emily Hemmett, Tianna Franks and Hattie Parkman outstanding. The back row of Ruby Pring, Sophie Adams and Millie Mann were also on top of their game, while Lottie Dadds controlled her pack with authority.

Hornets were first on the scoresheet when Cass Hancock set up Georgia Seviour to score, converted by Adams. Further tries followed for Townsend, Ruby Richardson and Ella Hutchinson, with conversions by Richardson and Adams to lead 26-0 at the break.

With many changes for the second half, Richardson stretched the lead, followed by a try for Ruby Pring, converted by Richardson. Drybrook managed to score a well-deserved try near the end to make the final score 38-5 to Hornets.

Adams and Richardson were both outstanding, while Hancock had her best game yet, but the player of the match went to youngster Hattie Parkman.
