Hornets Under-15 girls were 55-5 winners when they visited Kingswood for their latest action.

Hornets backrower Sophie Adams scored five tries in another competitive game for the girls taking her through the 200 points for the season barrier with 30 tries.

First intense pressure on the Kingswood line saw open side flanker Miriam Bailey poach a try from close range before fly-half Ella Hutchinson showed pace and power to add to Hornets’ account.

Centre Lily Jones had too much pace and footwork for the defence as she danced through for Hornets third.

Number 8 Adams then sprung to life adding a hat-trick in the blink of an eye.

The second half saw much of the same as Adams added another two tries and up to an incredible 202 points for the season!

Hutchinson, now operating in midfield, scored a lovely try after cutting a beautiful line through the Kingswood defence and Lottie Dadds also finished off a fine team score when the quick witted half-back shot through a gap close to a ruck.

Young Paige Hoddinott moved in to half-back from full-back and was soon showing Dadds she is not the only quick thinker in this side when she too shot through a gap on the fringes to dot down Hornets’ final try.

In the dying moments Kingswood exerted a fair amount of pressure on the Hornets line and despite some fully committed defence managed to force their way over for a very well deserved try.

Hornets’ rucking was much improved from previous weeks and proved an area that Jade Hazzard, Ellie Maher and Erin Edwards excelled in. Kerri Townsend, Tianna Franks and Paige Swain were immense in carrying the ball for Hornets while Jasmin Buckthought and Hattie Parkman made plenty of tackles during Hornets defensive efforts.

Miriam Bailey continues to enjoy a rich vein of form and was rewarded with her try. Dadds is also in the form of her life with her passing skills igniting the match.

On her special day Adams was awarded player of the match.
