Sparks continues as Weston captain

George parks will continue as captain of Weston Rugby Club for the forthcoming season.

GEORGE Sparks will continue as captain of Weston Rugby Club for the forthcoming season.

This will be the No 8’s third stint as the Seasiders’ skipper, having led the club last term and in 2011-12.

Educated at Sidcot School from where he played for Somerset in the 17 and 18 age groups, Manchester-born Sparks, aged 33, joined the club in September 2003, making his debut at Redruth in the Powergen Cup.

Since then, he has made 237 senior appearances and has scored 66 tries.
