Special course and grading for karate students

A special course and grading was held for students of Weston Karate Club, held at the Worle Centre.

Weston Karate Club held a special course and grading with Sensei Kevin Roberts 4th Dan chief instructor, Sensei Michelle Roberts 3rd Dan and Sensei Lewis Alder 2nd Dan at the Worle Centre.

The course which was for lower grade students (under brown belt) was well supported by both club instructors and students, but a special thank you goes to all the parents and families to support the students.

The course was split into two sections, two hours for junior grades and two hours for senior grades. Each group had an hours training, focusing on items that they would be graded on later in the session.

After a short break, students were called out in groups of up to six at a time, no more than two students being closely watched by each instructor.

The students have been working hard for the last couple of months to prepare for this grading. All the instructors were impressed with the good attitude shown by all who took part but two students in the first session stood out.

Adam Mores and Bethany Wyles both showed an excellent understanding of what they were asked to demonstrate, but also put in an amazing amount of effort for ones so young.

Beginner’s sessions are now starting at both Hutton Moor Leisure Centre and Worle Centre. A special promotion will see students get the first two weeks free.
