Tich wins latest Costcutter match at Shiplate

Angler Tich Williams won the latest Costcutter match on the Main Lake at Shiplate Farm Fisheries.

The latest Costcutter match on the Main Lake at Shiplate Farm Fisheries was won by Tich Williams form peg four.

Tich weighed in 167lb 12oz from the under-rated peg to win the match. Ray Wyckham on peg 15 weighed in 88lb 10oz and Terry Taylor came third with 76lb 8oz on another under-rated peg, (peg 2).

Another peg sometimes difficult to get right is peg 10, but Nigel Wyckham stormed ahead with the top silvers weight of the match, 22lb 12oz his brother Glynn was just behind him with 19lb 14oz from peg 14.

A pairs match was fished by 10 pairs of anglers on the Hawthorns and Westpool. Each pair fished the same peg number on both lakes to give a combined total weight.

Results: Dave White and Dave Romain 249lb 14oz (pegs 4); Ritchie Hawkins and Julian Pinkett 224lb 6oz (pegs 10); Tom Thick and Ray Wickham 218lb 14oz (pegs 9).

The latest open match on the Main Lake at Shiplate Farm Fisheries, fished by 20 anglers in mixed conditions, broke the match lake record by more than 25lbs against the previous record of 222lb 14oz.

The outstanding bag was weighed in from Mark Wynn (peg 11), at 258lb 2oz. Second was Tich Williams (peg 15), 183lb 10oz and third Dan White (peg 2), 180lb 8oz

Silvers went to Dave Romain (peg 10), 27lb 4oz, Glynn Wickham 26lb and Nigel Wickham (peg 4a), 21lb 12oz.
