Thrilling match for Uphill men

Uphill Badminton Club men’s B team were involved in an exciting match against Winscombe.

Uphill Badminton Club had just the one match last week with the men’s B team home against Winscombe B in Division 2.

The match turned out to be a thriller and the team of Paul Wright, Tony Wilsher-Day, Bill Ponting and Ben Moore all played well.

Player of the match was young Ben winning all three of his rubbers.

With three of the six rubbers going to deciders, it was left to captain Bill along with Tony to clinch the win in the nights final rubber 21-19 in the third. The team now sit in top spot with 10 points from 12.

The Uphill Junior Club season is now in full swing. The club play Saturday afternoons at Hans Price catering for ages five to 18 years.

With qualified coaches and various opportunities for league and friendly matches, come along and give it a try.
