Weston strengthen their position at the top of the league

Weston remain top of the Somerset Super League darts league after their latest victory.

Weston travelled to Keynsham and Kingswood for their latest Somerset Super League darts encounter.

The Seasiders got off to a bad start on board one losing the first two games before George Turnbull (22.94) won 4-2. Board two was fairing better with Darren Davies (24.62) winning 4-3 and Paul Tyler 4-0.

Weston took control of the game dominating Keynsham with Gary Deakin (4-2) and Bob Anderson (4-3), both winning, before Dave Baker (25.22) finished off board one by hitting two 180s in his 4-1 success.

Board two was also going Weston’s way with Martin Vanedgemeister (23.99) fighting hard for his 4-3 win, followed up by Mike Norton and Clive Strong both winning 4-0.

The visitors went into the pairs with a healthy 37-26 lead and victory was sealed by Anderson/Strong, Davies/Luke Clegg and Baker/Si Clegg all winning 2-0 and the night was finished off with victory for Vanedgemeister/Deakin (2-1) and 46-31 overall.

Weston sit top of the division with two games to go. The next game is at home at the 49 Club against Odd Down on March 17.

The Curry Gardens man of the match was taken by Dave Baker.
