Stars Of Time Comic Con was at Weston-super-Mare’s Tropicana, in Marine Parade, this weekend and people arrived in their thousands to celebrate their favourite comic book heroes and villains.

The event featured a number
of special guests, including the sixth and eighth Doctors, Colin Baker and Paul McGann, who were signing autographs and posing for photos throughout the day.

Also among the star-studded line up were Pink Panther actress Damaris Hayman and former Bond girl Caroline Munro.

For DC comic book fans, there was a chance to meet Ceri-Ann Williams, who starred as Gal Gadot’s stunt double in the 2017 film Wonder Woman.

There was something for all ages with two Batmobiles on display and characters in full costumes ready to pose for photos.

Members of the LudoSport England – Light Saber Combat Academy were also on hand to teach people how to handle the Star Wars weapon like a true Jedi master.

People dressed to impress at the convention, with superheroes, transformers, cartoon characters and stormtroopers filling the seafront venue. There were also some gorillas from the Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes who were in a festive mood.

Visitors were able to look at some replicas and authentic kit from some of the best-loved shows and films of the decade, buy merchandise and smile for a photo with Beauty and the Beast.

Organiser David Burrows said: “The event went really well and it was just as successful as our August event, with a couple of thousand people attending.

“It was busy all day and we have had a lot of positive feedback on our Facebook page.

“We had a charity auction for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Mind, on behalf of Weston’s Odeon, where we are hoping to raise between £300-400.

“It was a really good event and we hope to grow it and get bigger names in for next year.”
