I am worried for their safety

I am writing to you regarding my grave concern, and objection, to the change of use to the previous BHSF convalescent home to a secure psychiatric hospital. This building is right in the heart of our village, next to a playschool, village hall, church hall, playing fields, beach and not far from the primary school. As a resident of Kewstoke with both children, and grandchildren, living in the village and using all of the previously mentioned facilities, I am worried for the safety and security of my family if this proposal is allowed to proceed. The very fact that the owners of this establishment are advising that inmates will be securely detained and always escorted leaves me to believe that they are a definite danger to our community. From their website Cygnet Health Care make quite evident that they specialise in the treatment of addictions of all kinds, drugs, sex, and many others. How many more places like this can Weston accommodate? It has already the reputation of being the drug rehabilitation capital of the United Kingdom and we already have more than our fair share. I feel that this type of use at this location is not appropriate, not safe, and should not be allowed to proceed. Larraine PooleKewstoke
