I AM writing, following a recent visit to the Playhouse, on three counts.Firstly to express my delight at Weston Operatic's performance of the Titanic, a wonderfully moving, professional and totally enthralling evening's entertainment. I cannot speak highly enough of this show.As we left the theatre, an appropriate collection was being made for the local Sea Cadets. Youngsters were in attendance in immaculate uniform, and were totally civil and appreciative for every donation. I trust their efforts gave a significant contribution to their worthwhile cause. The contrast was as I stepped out of the Playhouse into the "wild west" atmosphere where the more-reported youth of Weston was in evidence, probably a minority but certainly a vocal and intimidating presence. This is not an inducement for a theatre-goer to return and whilst not young, I do not consider myself "aged", when I might find such behaviour even more worrying. Our theatre is a gem, the majority of our youths are responsible 'adults in waiting', and yet the over-riding atmosphere in so much of Weston on Saturdays is threatening. Can someone explain this?NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED
